Kathleen Weaver will read from her new book Too Much Happens with Barbara Jane Reyes at City Lights next Tuesday, 1/12 at 7pm.

In other news, Too Much Happens hit SPD’s December 2015 poetry bestseller list! Congratulations Kathleen!

Since Kathleen is having such a grand 2016 so far and you might like that shine to rub off on you, consider taking a 5 week poetry workshop with she and Jane Downs at University Press Books starting January 26th:

“Modes of Intimacy/Diversity of Response” :

The goal of these sessions is to foster informal, sociable & insightful discussions based on the idea that one experiences a poem more deeply by addressing it collaboratively. “Modes of Intimacy” is a phrase from Jane Hirshfield’s discussion on the nature of poetic expression. We’ll explore texts by American women poets including Emily Dickinson, Marianne Moore, Elizabeth Bishop, Sylvia Plath, Lucille Clifton, Louise Glück, Carolyn Forché, Brenda Hillman, Jorie Graham, Jane Kenyon, Jane Hirshfield, Rusty Morrison, & Rita Dove.
